James Bond is perhaps the most successful movie franchise in history. Audiences never tire of the intrigue and secrecy that are the hallmarks of spies and espionage. While fictional stories entertain us, there is a historical reality that keeps the genre alive. This course will examine spies and espionage through the ages, from ancient Rome to the present day.
