1.  What’s Coming to Grand Bend?

April 8 at 2 p.m. at Huron Shores United Church.

Doug Miller will come to explain the Health Care expansion and the creation of a community hub.  Mayor Bill Weber will speak to upcoming Lambton Shores plans for the improvement of services and infrastructure in our town. Is there a traffic plan, too?

2.  Paint Ontario with Josy Britton

April 15 at 2 p.m. at Lambton Shores Museum

Grand Bend’s preeminent art stars are its magnificent spring art show at the Lambton Shores Museum and its much-honoured local artist, Josy Britton.  Partners is bringing them together for a tour around the exhibit and a presentation by Josy about how she has put this community firmly on the cultural map by bringing her stunning sensibilities to our own lovely surroundings.

3.  Genetics and Medication

April 29, at 2 p.m., at Huron Shores United Church

Dr. James Kennedy of the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health in Toronto, speaks to his research on how the DNA blueprint of each person’s genes is now able to help doctors personalize  prescriptions  to minimize side effects. A good look at what is new and exciting in medical research.

4.   Petrolia Discovery

May 6,  9:30 a.m. at Pet Valu parking lot.

Our first field trip will follow the amazing story of the Lambton pioneer oil men, who traveled the world to discover most of its major oil fields. We will visit the  Petrolia Discovery Museum, and stop for lunch (optional) at a local eatery. Drivers and advance registration required. $5 donation for the tour …

5.   Lambton Shores Nature Trails

May 13, 10 a.m. at Port Franks Community Center

Join Klauss Keunecke and Marilyn-Keunecke Smith for a history and future of Lambton Shores trails. At 10:30 until noon, we will follow a guided trail walk on the White Trail (4.5 km). At 12:15 we will meet at the Ipperwash Beach Club for lunch.

Participants should wear good hiking footwear and bring water and snacks.  Preregistration is mandatory if you plan on staying for lunch.
