Notes: A topic of interest to all us retired folks, presented by an expert.
Balance problems are the strongest predictor of falls, and one in three adults over the age of 65 will fall each year. Because balance is a process, not a destination, we constantly adjust to the pull of gravity to stay upright. We use input from our eyes, sensations, and inner ear, and when balance is good, we ignore it, but when it’s off, we are in trouble. We love our exercise, but we can also slow down and examine how we move. This course is about each person’s experience, not about doing well. Using safe, relaxing movement, you will monitor yourself better, improve comfort, move more freely, and prevent falls. Welcome!
Please wear warm, loose clothing.
