Socrates Café
By popular demand … Each week one or two topics will be discussed. Each participant will suggest a topic, and the topics are ranked by a democratic vote.

The moderator will ensure that each participant has a chance to express their opinion, uninterrupted, starting with the person whose topic was chosen.
This course will appeal to anyone who wants the chance to express an opinion in an atmosphere of acceptance and respect. No preparation is required prior to attending.
If you enjoy a lively discussion, like expressing your opinion and have an interest in current affairs and controversial topics, this is for you.
Topics discussed last season included:
- Is America at the end of its democracy?
- Ontario is taking power away from conservation authorities for development
- Affordable housing – how do we do it?
- Does history matter for the future?
- What is the future of car ownership? (Transportation as a service)
- The decline of accountability
- Will our healthcare system be improved or degraded by privitization?
- Are you feeling overloaded by First Nations issues?
